EdTEC is a community-based, co-educational, technology-enabled learning and resource center. It serves both kindergarten year 3-5, (elementary), grade 1-8 (primary) and Grade 9-12 (Secondary) and Post-Secondary students as a technology-enabled learning center.
We are interested in linking with other schools across the world to enable us raise and produce well-rounded students in all facets of life. EdTEC focus is preparing our students as changemakers in their sphere of influence.
We are in the start-up level and international partnerships and knowledge sharing will enable us to grow and achieve our vision for providing quality education to often marginalized and underserved rural poor children who have limited or chance at all to access education.
EdTEC is unique in a sense that it's a public-private sector initiative unlike most of the schools which are either Government or Private funded. The use of technology is still a new term in Kenyan educational context and EdTEC is the only rural center that is pioneering adoption and popular use of technology to promote and global partnership which is indeed one of the universally agreed Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
We have limited computers (less than nine) in our project coordination and resource center in Mbita town. The schools has no computer and all the students must visit the resource center once a week to get introduced to computers and technology as a concept for building global partnerships and trade.
